THE BATTLE BEGINS...

But unlike the West Vincent Township local government, we believe that the Supervisors of East Goshen Township truly care about their residents and want to protect their residents' health, safety, and welfare.  Further, we firmly believe that they will not put the profits of a developer ahead of the well-being of residents.

But the Supervisors need YOUR HELP!  It is important that you contact the East Goshen Township Supervisors immediately (as well as often in the upcoming weeks/months) and voice your opposition to David Della Porta's plan to profit at YOUR EXPENSE!  [Also, please sign and mail the attached petition so that we can document your opposition...]

And remember to attend the Township's meetings!  Get involved and join with your neighbors to expel this threat to beautiful East Goshen Township!

DELLA PORTA'S PLAN

Basically, David Della Porta wants to build a 184-unit, high-density apartment complex near the intersection of Route 352 and Manly Road.  His problem: he needs to get three single family homes re-zoned in order to get 53 of the 184 apartments he desires.  He also wants the Township's building height limitation to be changed for his benefit -- taller buildings mean more apartments and more apartments mean more profits for Mr. Della Porta.

We believe that these zoning changes, although extremely profitable for Mr. Della Porta, will be VERY costly to current residents in terms of traffic, taxes, and the maintenance of the Township's "historic character."  

Mr. Della Porta has made much of his "concern for local residents."  But when we wrote to Mr. Della Porta requesting additional information for our analysis of his proposal, his response was to have his attorney write us a nasty letter.  This tendency of Mr. Della Porta to "lawyer-up" when asked even the most basic questions causes us considerable concern.  It appears he is only willing to talk to residents if they blindly agree to give him what he wants...  

We are willing to talk -- but evidently David Della Porta is not.  To this we simply ask:

We have our experts looking at the materials that the East Goshen Township local government was kind enough to provide and we'll post additional information as it becomes available...

Your involvement, when combined with that of other concerned citizens, will decide the quality of life available where you live.  Together, we can make sure that our region's new motto isn't: "All Hope Abandon, Ye Who Enter Here" Dante Alighieri (1265-1321)
